It is practically impossible to talk about Las Vegas without thinking about a great place to have a drink. Vegas nightlife is unmatched, and the city comes with more than enough bars to live up to the fame. Whether you are looking for a quiet place for a drink and conversation, a moderately active joint, or you want to party hard, Vegas has a joint you can hit. We have compiled a list of the best places to enjoy your evening as you sip your favorite drinks.
Juniper Cocktail Lounge
You will find this lounge at The Park MGM. It is a super spacious area whose décor is inspired by European gardens. Most importantly, Juniper Cocktail Lounge has one of the most extensive gin collections in Vegas. You will also be able to sample a wide range of cocktails, most of which are gin-based.
Oak & Ivy
If you are looking for a cozy place, this modest bar at Downtown Container Park should be able to meet your needs appropriately. They have a fantastic whiskey selection, and their wide variety of cocktails may leave you at a loss. Not to worry, though- the bartenders are friendly and helpful and will gladly help you choose something that makes you happy.
The Laundry Room
This speakeasy is located inside Commonwealth in Fremont East District. It has only 28 seats, so you would be fortunate to get in. You can make a reservation via text, and there’s a red light at the entrance that will help you know whether the place is already full or there’s room for more. The menu consists of drinks of exciting flavors, mostly made from a minimum of five ingredients. You will also get premium whiskies, spirits, and rums here.
The Chandelier
First things first, The Chandelier at Cosmopolitan is a sight to behold. The centerpiece, a crystal chandelier overlooking the casino, is, in fact, a bar with three levels. Each bar caters to a different group of people with varying needs, and the place runs every day for 24 hours.
The top floor is an excellent place to socialize and serves drinks geared toward a feminine taste. The middle floor houses a molecular mixology bar that prides itself as the only one in Las Vegas. The first floor serves classic cocktails. Make a point to try the “We’re All Mad Here,” which changes colors as you drink and has a tag that you can eat. What’s not to like about that?
The Dorsey
The Dorsey at Venetian is always open from 3 pm to 4 am. It is the kind of place that allows you to have your drink in peace as you converse. You can get champagne, bowls of punch, and excellent cocktails curated by Sam Ross. Ross curated the famed “Penicillin” cocktail, so you may want to try it while you are there.
Downtown Cocktail Room
The menu at this cozy speakeasy with comfortable velvet seats is constantly changing throughout the year. This means that you can always look forward to tasting something new when you come here. You can sample a variety of garnishes, spirits, punches, classics, and original concoctions from the house. There is always a DJ playing some relaxing music that will not interfere with your evening. One of the most exciting things about this place is that every weekday between 4 and 7 pm, everything on the menu goes for half the price. The entrance is a bit disguised, so you can easily miss it.
Fireside Lounge
You will find this lounge within the Peppermill eatery. The booths are pretty cozy, and the general set-up and décor will take you back to the 1970s. If you are lucky, you may nub a seat around the fireplace. The cocktails here are excellent, and there’s a daily happy hour.
Herbs & Rye
Herbs & Rye on Sahara Avenue serves a super interesting cocktail menu arranged chronologically. So you get to choose your drink based on the age it is from. The norm here is cocktails and steak, along with various spirits. Customer service is excellent, and the best part is that drinks and steak go at half price during happy hour. Happy hour runs from 5 to 8 pm, then between 12 and 3 am. Perfect for evening people and late-night party people.
Velveteen Rabbit
Pamela and Christina Durag started this vintage-themed joint at Arts District. They have a great beer collection, and the cocktails are made out of local ingredients in season. Velveteen Rabbit aims to promote local arts and talent. Depending on the day, you will catch a tarot reading or live local music on the patio in the backyard.
Atomic Liquors
If you are a history person, you may want to hit this joint for the culture. It was set up in 1945 and is the most ancient free-standing bar in Sin City. The bar’s roof is famous for being where people would watch atomic blasts as they drank. Its name comes from that fact. Their menu consists of a variety of ‘atomic cocktails’ and liquors.
Mama Rabbit
Are you looking to go a little crazy in a bar that feels like a nightclub? If your answer is affirmative, then Mama Rabbit is the place to go. There are gaming tables to engage you, perfect bar bites to sample, and live music to vibe to as you drink. Their tequila selection is arguably one the largest on the strip, so take all the shots you want.
The Bottom Line
Whether you love beer, whiskey, rum, spirits, or love experimenting with cocktails, there is a place in Las Vegas that will appeal to your interests. Make a point to drop in to one of these famous bars in Sin City and create some crazy memories.
